My Healthy Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps
I made these healthy ground turkey lettuce wraps for dinner with some help from my dear friend Mrs. Dash. I’m fairly new to the 8-week Challenge and coming up with ways to balance my proteins, carbs and fats is going to be a tricky thing for me because I’m so used to just eating whatever I wanted. For dinner, I decided to take some ground turkey and mix it up with Mrs. Dash and see if I couldn’t pull off some healthy ground turkey lettuce wraps.
I am no kitchen guru by any means but what I like about Core is that I don’t have to be. It’s made to be kept quick and simple for busy lifestyles. There’s a really easy measuring system for your proteins, carbs and fat portions. You can easily just pick foods from each of the lists and throw together all your meals.
Healthy Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Extra lean ground turkey
- 3 tbsp. Mrs. Dash Salt-Free Chicken Grilling Blends
- Head of Romaine Lettuce
- Non-fat cooking spray
Heat pan on a medium-low heat. Spray the bottom of your pan with non-fat cooking spray of your choice. Add the ground turkey and the Mrs. Dash seasoning and cook together in the pan. Lay out the larger leaves of the Romaine lettuce on the plate and fill with cooked ground turkey.
- Baked asparagus tips with Trader Joe’s 21 Seasonings Salute
- 3 oz. Sliced strawberries and blueberries
- Green salad with Romaine lettuce and spinach
- Salad dressing was olive oil and champagne vinegar dressing
This dinner I made has a protein, carb and a fat. The ground turkey acts as my protein, the fruit as my carbs and the olive oil in the salad dressing is my fat. All green vegetables are free to eat! I’m on day two of this 8 week challenge to lose weight and I am missing some things. Yesterday I was really missing coffee, but today I’m really missing salty things. Overall though, I feel really good. I even feel a little lighter already.
